# Combining sales data into one view that allows me to see each piece as a fraction of the sum of the pieces

Tableau desktop 2019.2.27

This is sales data so I cannot share the workbook but below are 2 items that I filtered to and the total is the 3rd row. The data is correct, but I'd like to see those 3 combined so in a single visual I can see product A, product B and the sum of product A and B.

Hi

What is that is missing in your viz

attached is a simple superstore example replicates your issue and returns this (as the subcat level)

what did you want the result to look like?

What I would like is for all 3 to be within a singe graph instead of 3 distinct areas of visualization. I pulled the item pill and it gave me closer to what I was looking for but I'd like to see the aggregated total as well. This is what i have now but the orange is say 10 and the blue is 10 but the blue is the aggregate of the 2. I apologize if I'm not making sense. Fundamentally, if product A sold 8 every week and product B sold 10 every week, I want to see a line at 8 and 10 depicting product A and product B and then a line at 18 aggregating product A and B. Or it would be better to have a similar visual that shows product A is 44.4% of the total and product B is 55.6%

see the attached

You can get this as a combined area - line

or this  all lines

using an lod to get the total
