We currently have several tables in BQ. When I attempt to retrieve any data from them via Tableau I retrieve the following error:
The Google BigQuery service has denied access for this request.
Access Denied: BigQuery BigQuery: No OAuth token with Google Drive scope was found.
I can connect to BQ sample data sets via Tableau Desktop and Online and when I attempt to connect to our BQ tables I can at least see the fields, just can not pull data.
I am 100% sure that this has to do with setting up OAuth...which I have no idea how to do. I have gone through the GCP credentials screen and OAuth setup and I don't know what to insert into any of the fields.
Receiving the same error when attempting to connect via Desktop or Online.
I am a statistician in a very lean organization tasked with setting all of this up and am banging my head against a wall here. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Do you have a personal Google account with access to your BQ data? That's how we connect to BQ. We don't use OAuth. You may be able to create a Google account and have the BQ table owner give you project permissions.
You can test your credentials by starting with the Google console.
