How is the issue affecting you?
Are you getting extract refresh errors? If so what is the error?
What version of MySQL is your data source?
If have the same issue. I get below error. Anyone knows how to fix this?
"Detailed Error Message
[MySQL][ODBC 8.0(w) Driver]Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) Unable to connect to the MySQL server "localhost". Check that the server is running and that you have access privileges to the requested database.<br>2020-01-08 09:20:45.195, (XhWe62V336Dq5Ayvmm641AAAAJM,0:0)"
I don't understand the Issue numbers that you've posted, do you have links to these issues ?
Where is mySQL installed ? (ie locally or on a remote server ?)
Have you enabled remote access to mySQL ? (this is usually disabled by default)
Thanks for the reply. We are running 5.7 with the local connection driver being 8.0.18.00. The local connection is where where we are using Tableau Bridge to setup and maintain extract refreshes.
Yes we are getting extract refresh errors. The errors range but are primarily indicating the user does not have rights or the user/pw is wrong. This is definitely not a true reflection of the error though as we have extensively tested user credentials via MySQL Workbench.
Yes this does match what we are seeing. I will try the options and post back here with the results. Thanks!
