We have done lunch-n-learns about every 3 weeks with various topics. Not all of our users are located in the same building, so we would include a Skype or WebEx and a conference call line.
I know some companies offer a schedule of time in which the developer or development team is available to answer questions, demo new features and updates, etc.
Other companies announce Open Office Hours where the development team and subject matter experts get together to brainstorm and it is open time for customers to join the meeting for questions, training, demo's, etc.
