I am using the REST API with our Tableau Server and am able to login and list projects and schedules but when I try to list dataAlerts I get:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<tsResponse xmlns="http://tableau.com/api" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://tableau.com/apihttp://tableau.com/api/ts-api-3.6.xsd">
<error code="409025"> <summary>Forbidden</summary>
<detail>User 'c32a8c32-736a-46b2-acb8-2d3fe13df423' is unauthorized to query for data alerts on this site.</detail> </error> </tsResponse>
I am the server admin. Same problem with both Server 2019.3.1 and Server 2019.4 with both regular logins and the new personal access tokens. We only use the default site.
I have submitted case 05446852.
This was a side effect of updating Server from beta to release, which apparently is not supported on Windows. Beta had to be removed first, then release installed.
