    YoY % change

    Saket Panchbhaiya

      Hi there!

I am trying % change value in dynamically linked to year filter on dashboard. I have tried couple of things, but was not able to get the result.

      Thank you!

      Regards,

      Saket

          Hi Saket,

To achieve this you have to use a parameter as the filter would inevitably filter the data from the previous year. Find the solution attached.

          Dashboard 1.png

I created two calculations and one parameter for Date.

Calculation 1: This is your new date field.

          if YEAR([Date])=YEAR([Date Parameter])

          then [Date]

          END

Calculation 2: Your filter, showing TRUE values

          [Date]>=DATEADD("year",-1,[Date Parameter])

          and [Date]<DATEADD("year",1,[Date Parameter])

Then I hid the Null values so it only shows the year selected with the parameter without filtering the values from the previous year. To do this I added my year to size and then right click on the legend over my NULL and select Hide.

Hope this makes sense. If this helps you, please mark it as helpful and correct so other users can refer to it. Thanks!

          Best,

          Diego

            Hi Diego,

            Thanks for this, its working.

One more thing, is it possible to use parameter control as filter for other sheets used in dashboard. As i need to use a Year filter from date field to make the information present in dashboard dynamic.

            Regards,
            Saket

              Hi Saket,

Yes. It is possible, you just need to use or create a field that refers to the parameter in the way you need and then use that in your other worksheets. Also, if you are in 2019.3 you can use parameter actions to use action filters.
