Getting email alerts only when hitting test_alert in the comment section

    Holly C

      Hello,

We are using the Tableau Server Version: 2019.2.2 (20192.19.0718.1543) 64-bit Linux. We never managed to make VizAlerts work properly in this server. The best we did is to send out alerts when manually triggering them using the comment "test_alert". Without the test_alert comment, we won't receive the alerts in our emails. Extract refreshes are performing normally and the content is not empty.

The following is the logs for our test :Test_logs.png

And this is what we get for the rest of the time in loop: Logs.png

      Please advise!

      We appreciate your help!

      Holly

No alerts are being picked up by the VizAlertsConfig\ScheduledTriggerViews workbook. You can verify this by looking at it yourself in Tableau. If you see nothing in that viz, then no VizAlerts will be processed. Play around and see if you can figure out why nothing is showing. It could be that the schedule names don't match the pattern you put into your workbook parameter, or that the schedules are not disabled, or that you have just not subscribed any vizzes to them.
