# Average Number of Records

Hi,

I am having a use case where I have to find average of number of records but when I do it in measure calculations it comes to be 1 which should not be the case.

I have two columns Arrival Date (DateTime type) and Emp ID. I am trying to create a view where I can add a column next to the Grand Total column which basically shows average arrivals per day (i.e. total arrivals on Sunday/number of Sundays for given date range in filter). Please suggest a formula to help me with this. Thanks! • ###### 1. Re: Average Number of Records

Hi Utkarsh, would you be able to attach a sample workbook?

Please find the attached sample workbook. Thanks!

I think I found the answer!

I created two calculations:

1. Calc1: {FIXED year([Arrival Date and Time]), month([Arrival Date and Time]), DAY([Arrival Date and Time]) :COUNTD(DATEPART('week',[Arrival Date and Time]))}

2. Calc2: SUM([Number of Records])/SUM([Calc1])

The second one answers my question of finding: Total arrivals on Sunday/number of Sundays for given date range in filter
