Can you explain in more detail what you were able to do in PBI that you can't do in Tableau?
Below is an example of a Power BI data model view. It shows the star schema in a visual way. What is challenging for me to accomplish in Tableau is pull in 3-5 sources of data & maintain the joins while ensuring the data is accurate.
Do you know if Tableau has something similar in the pipeline or related approach? Or maybe I got the wrong thinking in my approach. Just curious. Thank you!

OK - I suspected that's what you wanted.
Tableau is not a data modeling tool. Neither is Prep. Tableau offers lightweight tools to help non-technical users attach to and use data, but if you're looking for that level of detail, you're not going to find it in Tableau.
I know there are improvements planned for the way we do things like this, but I can't speak to timelines or feature roadmaps specifically. I would be surprised if we went that far but I have no knowledge one way or the other.
Our normal guidance would be that this kind of work is best done in a different tool to prepare the data for presentation to Tableau. But trying to do complex modeling in either Desktop or Prep is not going to give you that low level detail.
Michael - Thank you for the honest feedback. It's the answer I was suspecting, but I was hearing chatter that Tableau had something like this under potential development. Thanks again.
