So one way is to use the new Parameter Actions...
In the attached I've set up a parameter like so
I've then set up 2 calculated fields....
and added these to each of the sheets in DB1 or DB2.
I then set up parameter actions to send the relevant ABC/XYZ to the parameter from the relevant dashboard....
Here's the one from DB1
I then set up the navigation as usual.
We can then use the parameter as (or in) the title of DB3.
Hope that all makes sense, but let me know if not
Thank you so much for the response.
This worked perfectly when i did it on 2019.2.3 version (Trial Version). However, i am using 2018.3.6. I do not see 'Change Parameter' option in Action filter.
Please refer to the below screenshots. Could you please let me know if we can achieve the same in 2018.3.6 version?- Any method of achieving the same would work for me?
Thanks for the response.
This is the workbook which was done in the latest version and it works in this version with change parameter option. Could you please help me achieving the same in 2018.3.6 version with the other way you mentioned and also works in 2018.3.6 version?
If i click on DB-1 or DB-2 it should go to DB3 and show relevant data with DB title changing dynamically?
So here is one way to do this pre Parameter Actions (which were only released in 2019.2). This uses an action driven sheet swap, with the titles as sheets to swap between the 2 (depending on the navigation source dashboard).
Here is an article I wrote on the general trick...
First I created 2 dummy dimensions with the values 1 and 0 and added these to the source sheets so I can send over an action. If you then look in the dashboard actions for DB1 and DB2 you'll see an action which "kills" the title we don't want and shows the title we do.
Hope it all makes sense, but give me a shout if you need any help.
As you can see parameter actions made all this so much easier!
