    SAML settings and configuration 2018.2 and later

      The attached article was developed to help Server Administrators diagnose and configure SAML after upgrading from 2018.1 or earlier.

      Required Access - Server Administrator

      Mangers of ADFS - Active Directory Federation Services - Wikipedia  

      After successfully upgrading to 2018.2 or later:

       

      1. RDP to the Server and navigate to your BIN Directory.

      In this example, the BIN Directory is:

      D:\Program Files\Tableau\Tableau Server\packages\bin.20191.19.0417.1429

       

      Gather information on your ADFS Settings -

       

      D:\Program Files\Tableau\Tableau Server\packages\bin.20191.19.0417.1429>tsm configuration get -k wgserver.saml.idpattribute.username

           username

       

      D:\Program Files\Tableau\Tableau Server\packages\bin.20191.19.0417.1429>tsm configuration get -k wgserver.saml.idpattribute.displayname

           displayname

       

      D:\Program Files\Tableau\Tableau Server\packages\bin.20191.19.0417.1429>tsm configuration get -k wgserver.saml.idpattribute.email

           email

       

      D:\Program Files\Tableau\Tableau Server\packages\bin.20191.19.0417.1429>tsm configuration get --k wgserver.saml.idpmetadata.file

           C:/ProgramData/Tableau/Tableau Server/data/tabsvc/config/tabadmincontroller_0.20191.19.0417.1429/files/samlidpmetadata.xml

       

       

      2. After gathering this Data that is managed by your ADF Team, log into your TSM Console:

      TSM:

           https:<Server URL>:8850

       

      SAML Sign-out redirect:

      https:<ServerURL>/wg/saml/SingleLogout/index.html
