# Force 0 to display when filtered

Hello,

I did a text table with 2 dimension and [Number of Records].

I created a calculated field as NullTo0: ZN(LOOKUP(SUM(IFNULL([Number of Records],0)),0)) in order to force to display the "0"  in the table above.

But when i put a filter on a Team, the 0 is not displayed:

Is there anyone who has a solution to display 0 when the table is filtered ?

Thanks,

Best regards,

Christian

Hi Norbert,

Thanks for the response.

However when I adapted the calculated field as ifnull(sum([Number of Records]),0) , it does not seem to work:

I attached the workbook, would you mind to have a look the calculated field "Test1" ?

Thanks,

Bes regards,

Christian

Hi Christian,

Find my updated approach based on "Scaffolding" below and stored in attached workbook version 10.5 located in your original post here:

The next step could be "Scaffolding" your dataset.

Scaffolding is explained here Vizible Difference: Data Scaffolding in Tableau

Hi Nobert,

Thanks for the explanition, and documentation for Scaffolding.

However with this technique, it takes the number of records as 1 on the level of "Team1 - Mid" , which is not correct, it should be 0.

After all my goal is display the 0 although when there is a filter applied :

Any solution for this?

Thanks,

Best regards,

Christian

Hi Christian

Find my updated approach as reference below and stored in attached workbook version 10.5 located in your original post here:

Force 0 to display when filtered

1. 01 M Calc: if isnull([Level])=True then 0 else [Number of Records] end

Thanks,

Norbert
