Our company is in the middle of a server migration. The Tableau version we have in old (current production) server is version 9.2 and the new server has version 2018.3.2. New version is now issuing ticket that are 49 characters long. The web application that is serving the Tableau reports is expecting a 24 character long ticket. Based on info found on trustedAuthenticationSettings Entity - Tableau we enabled the useV2tickets option and restarted the Tableau server. However we are not seeing any change in the format of the ticket returned. It is still returning a Base64-encoded UUID and a 24 character secure random string. What are we missing here?
My initial thought: did you run "tsm pending-changes apply" after running "tsm settings import"?
If so, try manually setting that configuration parameter using "tsm configuration set -k wgserver.trustedticket.use_deprecated_v2_tickets -v true" followed by "tsm pending-changes apply" and see if that changes anything.
