Can you explain in more detail, I don't quite understand what you're describing
Let's say I have 2 extracts and 1 workbook. The only time the extract has to be refreshed is when the workbook will be viewed, the viewer will do this manually.
But to make this step more foolproof I thought maybe it would be possible to someone link the 2 extracts not in Tableau but in the SQL server.
I do not want to blend the data in there and make 1 big extract because both extracts should also be used seperately.
So I was hoping I will somehow be able to refresh 1 extract and that in turn will refresh extract 2 as well because we linked the 2 extracts in the SQL server.
Maybe there is a way to connect 2 extracts with the same type of structure as how an extract is build in the SQL server.
For example part of the query in the extract we got is:
Maybe it is possible to make
Unfortunately I can't provide you with more detailed information on the technical side of extracts since that responsibility lies with our IT department.
Sorry, I've never seen that done before. I don't think there's any way to make it happen.
Chris, thank you for your time.
I was already afraid this wouldn't be possible.
Usually I get an answer within a day and this thread is already open for 8 days.
and usually you're also able to find atleast something on a topic and here is literally 0 information available.
Still thank you for looking into this,
