Format Negative Number - parenthesis format - alignment between positive and negative numbers

I would like to have it so the numbers align between positive and negative numbers - when formatting negative numbers with parenthesis in tableau -  like so ...

Excel does the above by default, when i set the format to parenthesis for negative numbers.

However, when you use the number format in tableau, it places the parenthesis in same position as the last digit on a positive number

      "$"#,##0.00;("$"#,##0.00)

So i'd like to shift the positive #'s left a spot, so their digits and decimal lined up with the negative numbers.

One idea i saw was to put   _)    after the last positive digit in the format string.

      "$"#,##0.00_);("$"#,##0.00)

      that didn't seem to help.

just a space after doesn't do anything either

      "$"#,##0.00 ;("$"#,##0.00)

      or this

      "$"#,##0.00" ";("$"#,##0.00)

Anyone else run into this before and find a way to align the positive and negative numbers?
