# Histogram

Hi Friends

I am learning Tableau to get Tableau certification and faced a below question. I don't have idea to solve the below question, please guide me.

Using Global Superstore, Creating histogram of 1000's for Sales, which bin has the maximum overall Profits by Region?

My Approach

1. Sales(bin) of 1000 in Column shelf . And count of Sales in Row shelf. Histogram view get created.

2. Dragged sum(profits) to tooltip, to get the profit.

Don't understand how to archive the following "maximum overall Profits by Region"

Btw, is it necessary to include Region to filter shelf?. Kindly clarify

1. Plot a Box chart with Profit by Sub-Category  and identify the Region with maximum distribution.

2. Using Global Superstore, which state has average Ship time over 7days (Day difference between Order date and Ship date)?

Add datediff > 7 in filter shelf on top of below view

3. Using Global Superstore, which state sub category has average Ship time over 7days (Day difference between Order date and Ship date)?

From grand total value, we can find the state whose value greater than 7

4. Using Orders and Returns from Global Superstore, which Region had the highest Return % (Return as % of Total Sales) for Tables Sub-Category?

Hi Gowthami,

It is not necessary to include the region, just i added it for only filter purpose.

It seems all your calculations are good and i have a suggestion for Calculation 3.

In Exam time is more important so please find attached twbx file to check the answer, let me know if it helps.

Errors occurred while trying to load the attached workbook as my Tableau public is  in older version. If possible can you please send the image of calculation 3.

1. Using Superstore, In which of the following regions the Subcategory Office Supplies has sales more than the Overall Average sales

2. Plot a Box chart with Profit by Region and identify the Sub-Category with maximum distribution.

3.  Find cumulative sales for customers who first purchased in 2012

4.  identify the Sub-Categories where Top 20 Customers that have Sales more than the other Sub-Categories in the same Region

5. Using SuperStore, identify the  office supply category where top 3 customers have negative profits along the region??(identify count of of negative profits)

Compute Using by Customer Name.

You have answered question 5, For question 4, use the superstore data ,  identify the Sub-Categories where Top 20 Customers that have Sales more than the other Sub-Categories in the same Region

And please provide screen shot for the below question

For  Using SuperStore, identify the  office supply category where top 3

customers have negative profits along the region??(identify count of of

negative profits)w

How to select top 3 for each region, when i add index to filter, it filter

top 3 overall by include all regions. PFA

//Calculation on filter:  No. of days == AVG([Days duration for shipping]) >= 7

Questions 1:

as per my view, we should consider the count of order id, then we can find out the percentage of the returns.

Question 2:

You are right, Answer is None because there is no category meets with sales and projection.

Question 3:

It's a continuous dimension.

b. New version of extract created in .tde

c. .hyper useful when there are huge number of records

d. First time to create .hyper file needs more time

To my knowledge a,c,d is correct. Please correct if iam wrong

2)Which of the following datasources requires an extract only

Salesforce was one of the option. Can you Please list what other

datasources requires an extract

3)Auto refresh happens

a.Publishing on Tableau server

b.Opening on Tableau online

I hope that a is correct answer

Method 1 :In view included   both sub category and region in pills. From

the graph infer that East region having maxi distribution

Method 2 :  :In view included   sub category in details marks card and

region in pill. From the graph infer that Central region having maxi

distribution

I have used the Superstore dataset
