# filter to only show specific dates

Please help! I only need to show  in the screenshot below the Total for the record that is on the 26th of every month and if my max date is less than the 26th, I need to show what is my Total as well. So from the screenshot below, I need the 17,736,099,704 for 11/26 and the 12/20 25,730,567,804. Your quick response is highly appreciated. I've been trying to figure this out quite a bit but still getting nowhere. Thank you. Attached sample workbook is also attached (10.5).

Hello Alyssa,

If I understand your request, the following should work for you.  If yes, please mark this response as correct. Thx, Don

I used Tableau's Sample Superstore data and the following calculation to get you the result in this screenshot:

Calculation:

IF ATTR(DAY([Order Date]))=26 THEN RUNNING_SUM(SUM([Sales]))

ELSEIF LAST()=0 THEN RUNNING_SUM(SUM([Sales])) END

Thanks for the reply Don! I see you have the calculated field in the filter. What value should I set my filter to? Thanks

Hi Alysse,

Simply uncheck 'Null' and leave everything else checked.  Thx, Don

Thanks again, Don! Now on to my next question.. I need another calculated field to multiply the Total in the above screenshot. If Total <=20,000,000 then multiply by 5, if Total is between 20,000,001 and 23,000,000 then multiply by 6, is >23,000,00 then multiply by 7. I attached my workbook. Thanks

Hi Alysse,

You'll need to submit this as a brand new post as it's an entirely different question.

Thx!  Don
