Button or filter to sort each column

    Tableau Learner

      Hi all,

I have 3 columns as shown below. I would like to create a button or filter for them to sort each column in ascending or descending order.

I understand there is already a tableau functionality but it isn't obvious to new users.

Is it possible to create such buttons or filters?

      Thanks!

          Hi,

Nut sure but find my approach as reference below and stored in attached workbook version 10.5 located in the original thread

          unique.png

          1. Define Parameter

          para.png

          2. Define M1. Selected Measure:

          if [Select Measure]='Sales' then [Sales]

          elseif [Select Measure]='Profit' then [Profit]

          elseif [Select Measure]='Quantity' then [Quantity]

          END

          3. Define M2. Rank: RANK_UNIQUE(sum([M1. Selected Measure]))

          4. Drag M2. Rank to the row, set to Discrete, untick Show Header & show parameter control

          Hope it helps.

          Regards

          Norbert
