We have recently begun exploring a Tableau Windows to Linux migration and while our initial migration was successful, we realized that we would need a significantly larger amount of disk space to accommodate Tableau Server. Our AWS team added an additional drive, which is great, but all of our Tableau Server files are on the root. My understanding is that while there is a significant chunk of TS that needs to remain in its default installation path, during the initial installation, you can set the location of the data directory manually using the -d flag:
I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to move this directory to a newly installed drive without having to start over from scratch?
We moved the data directory using the -d flag, but I think it had to be done on the initial install.
