Dragos Alexe Nov 25, 2018 2:52 PM (in response to Chris McClellan)Sorry for delay.
So I was trying to do this: Getting Started | Introduction to Tableau -the beginner guide. But for Order ID, using custom split, right separator only return me the same column, without any change. I can't public my work-I use public version and got the error "Data extract required"-connection with option extract only available other version.
Thank you!!!!

1 of 1 people found this helpfulIt sounds like it's not finding the delimiter, but it's hard to tell for sure if you can't provide any data.
If you can create a dummy CSV or XLS file that does the same thing, that would be great and you can attach that and we can help you further

Dragos Alexe Nov 26, 2018 2:03 AM (in response to Chris McClellan)Hy,
I figured out what's going on!!! When you select the separator, you have to press Space bar button, to erase all delimiter separator and choose your own one. But pressing like this, it also create an extra blank space before your own separator. So press space bar, use directional keyboard-erase this extra blank space and...would be all right. Maybe would be easier to allow us to delete using keyboard like Delete or arrow keyboard. Or using mouse.
Appreciate your time and effort!!!!
Have a nice day!!
