Ken Flerlage Yes Thanks for the reply Ken..I have gone through it where the document clearly says Tableau only shows the values that are represented in your data. If your data does not contain the complete range of values, the missing values will not be shown. , I am currently trouble shooting for a problem where a customer needs to display all the 12 months with/without data.Is there any solution for this ken?

Show missing values will not work for this. One approach I've used is to do a join to a list of dates. Such lists are pretty common in data warehouses. Here's an example using Excel. I've created one Excel workbook with dates from January 1 to November 30, 2018. I then use a left join to my actual data:
You could then build a view something like this:
I'm attaching the spreadsheets and a packaged workbook.
thanks your excel solution works.Similarly my dba gave me an date time table with all the dates for 2 years (2017 & 2018)
We joined the base table with the date time table using right join (columns matched - date time key)
I have data for jan, feb, may, apr, may, oct, nov of 2018 from my base table
When i select the option of show missing values i get the months jun, jul, aug, sep as well then using the lookup calc i'm showing null values as 0.that is fine.
But, In the same way they are asking to show the month of December as well, but december is missing ?
The client wants to show all the 12 months with/without data
