Hi Robert,
I can confirm the double drop down problem, this is something that will be fixed in the coming weeks. As for the error, that is something I can't reproduce, could you check the console (F12) and see if you are getting any errors there around access?
Take care,Keshia

Steve Mayer Nov 15, 2018 11:51 AM (in response to Keshia Rose)Just chiming in my support for all efforts to make this extension as robust as possible, cross-browser, mobile, etc. Honestly I think that Data-Driven Parameters should be getting full support of the dev & product teams at Tableau, as it solves such a fundamental issue with building interactivity into Tableau dashboards. If the extension becomes robust enough to work cross-browser and on mobile/tablet, I plan to make extensive use of it, as I currently have several clients who have to manually maintain their parameter lists across multiple Tableau workbooks.
Finally, I'd like to see it formally rolled into the product - it seems to be quite a small leap to just make the current "Add From Field..." functionality automatically happen on load.
Good to see that there is some forward progress here. Thank you to Keshia for moving this forward,
-Steve

Hi Robert,
Thanks for this, after looking into this more we actually were able to reproduce this error. It seems to be something to do with switching tabs in IE. One of our engineers is looking into and I'll keep you updated on their findings.
Take care,
Keshia

Robert Flint Nov 15, 2018 1:51 PM (in response to Keshia Rose)Keshia, you Freaking Rock! I am so glad it's not just me .
I absolutely love this parameter and want to use it in our customer portal but without being able to control external users' browser choices I thought I'd have to give up and start using custom views. (not ideal)
Really appreciate the quick response and you guys working on these things. Let me know if I can assist by breaking anything else in the meantime.

Hi Robert,
Just want to confirm the reproduction steps for this bug. Do you see this bug when you load a dashboard, allow the extension and then switch tabs, or is it something else that is causing the error?
Take care,
Keshia

Robert Flint Nov 16, 2018 2:44 PM (in response to Keshia Rose)That is exactly right. When we initially load the workbook it appears to work fine including using the parameter to filter that view. Once we switch tabs... Errors galore!

Ok, so there's good news and there's bad news. The good news is, we've figured out the problem and a fix has been checked in. The bad news is, the fix won't be available to you for a while. It may or may not get into a maintenance release but it will definitely be in 2019.1. Until then, your only workaround is to not use IE or to not switch tabs in workbooks.

Robert Flint Nov 16, 2018 4:26 PM (in response to Keshia Rose)Keshia, thanks for the good news! Not so taken with that bad news bit though .
I think a good rule of thumb for life is not to use IE, unfortunately I can't control what my clients are doing.
So let me ask, if we are certain of it being in 19.1, any idea on schedule for that? If it does manage to squeak into a maintenance release... would you be able to let us know?
Again, thanks so much for bringing this fantastic plugin I really do appreciate your responsiveness.

I absolutely agree! I can definitely update you here if we put it in a maintenance release! As for 2019.1, of course, things can change and get delayed but I would say sometime around January.
Take care,

Robert Flint Jan 2, 2019 8:10 AM (in response to Keshia Rose)Hey Keshia and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Any updates here? Does it look like this fix will be in 2019.1 and not a maintenance release for 2018.3?

If we are already running 2018.3.2 will a reinstall be needed?
