Let say I have two data sources Table#1 and Table#2. Table#1 has column A and B, and Table#2 has column X and Y. Table#1 and Table#2 and being visualized in two different worksheets.
What I want to do is to create an action filter that filter Table#2 based on the selection on Table#1. I want Table#2 to show records where X==A OR X==B. I tried creating two separate filters as well as putting two conditions in a single filter but both attempts failed because Tableau action filters run on AND condition by default. Is there an easy way to get this done?
You may want to Un-Pivot both [A] and [B] columns,
so the values from both would go into the same column.
Multi-selecting on this column would do what you want.
In Tableau data pane, there is an option called Pivot
(available for some datasources) which is doing just that :-)
Or you may want to use Tableau Prep for that.
