Reset filter on row level change

I have a single select filter that contains several values. I.E. "Desktop, Laptop". I also have row-level security implemented in which some users only have access to Desktop, and some Laptop. The filter absolutely has to be a single select due to the backend data.

The dashboard itself defaults to "Desktop". However, if user A logs in and has access to Laptop only, then they will see "(Desktop)" in the filter list - causing them to see a blank dashboard and forcing them to manually change to "Laptop". Is there a way to force Tableau to reset the filters and not display values that, due to the row-level filtering, aren't even in the dataset anymore?

I realize that if it were multi-select I wouldn't have this issue - which is frustrating.
