Tableau Prep matching an alternative parameter if the first is null (blank)

I am new to Tableau, and am grateful for any help.

I have two large data sets, and would like to join them.  The first is the core reference table and the second is the sales data.  The join can potentially be made against two parameters.  The catch is that in both datasets, some products only have one of the two parameters.  So ifi am trying to join them on parameter 1, there will be many unmatched values.  However, if I tried joining on parameter 2, then the products unmatched against parameter 1 would be matched.

Is there a mechanism in prep of joining the two datasets by using the logic that if one parameter in null to use the other?

I look forward to your reply,

      Thanks Mark
