# Pie chart with two values, percentage

Hi

How do I setup a pie chart to just show the percentage of total, so if the values were 50/50 half the pie chart would be colored

So I have two (three) values which I guess should be calculated to a percentage.

Value A: 28.000

Value B: 36.000

Value C (TOTAL): 64.000

How do I get it to show in the pie chart, I tried googling as this should be fairly simple, but I can't wrap my hear around it, and tried a thousand things now it seems.

Hi Henrik

I don't know what you've tried, and your example above seems quite simple, so you should be able to build this as follows

1) Assumption : Your data is structured as 2 rows of data only (you don't need a total, as Tableau can do this automatically).

Type     Value

A          28

B          36

2)  Use a quick table calculation to create % of total (Quick Table Calculations - Tableau)

3) Use Show Me (top right), and select pie chart and it will create what you need, coloured by Type, putting the various fields on the right shelves.  You can edit the colours to suit.

Hope that helps
