Calculation based on value in another field

    Rob Royston

Building a report and looking to create a new Sales Type by subtracting values based on specific given Sales Type but don't know how to do it.

For example given the following values:

      • Sales Type '01' (My company) = 5,000
      • Sales Type '02' (The total market) = 15,500
      • Sales Type '03' (One competitor's share) = 500
      • Sales Type '08' (3 major players... which includes me) = 14,000

      I need to create:

      1. Sales Type '11' = Sales Type '08' - Sales Type '01' (the expected answer will be 9,000)
      2. Sales Type '12' = Sales Type '02' - Sales Type '08' (the expected answer will be 1,500)

Does this make sense and is there a way to do that in Tableau?

      Thanks in advance.
