    Tableau Hyper Extract: tableausdk.Exceptions.TableauException: TableauException (303): invalid collation name

    Giovanni Andrea Binda

      Good day everyone,

      I'm trying to update some datastore in 'hyper' format with the official tableausdk library for python, but I still get the above error with any datasource file.

      The aforementioned files work flawlessly in Tableau Desktop (which, by the way, generated them) and are  derived from mysql queries or mysql full tables.

      The code, very simplified, is listed below:

      import sys

      from tableausdk import *

      from tableausdk.HyperExtract import *

      def extract(ds_path):

             xt=Extract(ds_path)

             if xt.hasTable("Extract"):

                    t=xt.openTable("Extract") # <<-Exception Raised:  tableausdk.Exceptions.TableauException: TableauException (303): invalid collation name

      if __name__=="__main__":

           extract(sys.argv[1])

      I can't find any information about datastore collation and how to fix/change it

      Does anybody have some ideas?

      Thank you very much and regards
