# Quadrant Analysis Using MoM Ratios

Howdy All!

Trying to create a visual and have stumbled a bit on the execution.

Found a wonderful video detailing a really great quadrant analysis of 2013 vs 2014 example:

I am trying to use Percentiles for Profit Ratio from Superstore (attached) comparing a max month to the previous month. For this data comparing States.

1.) If I do not aggregate my calculation then my numbers are way off

IF DATETRUNC('month', [Order Date]) =

THEN

[Profit]/[Sales]

END

2.) If I do aggregate my calculation they are a perfect match.

IF ATTR(DATETRUNC('month', [Order Date])) =

ATTR(DATE(DATETRUNC('month', {MAX([Order Date])})))

THEN

SUM([Profit])/SUM([Sales])

END

The downside though is that when they are aggregated I cannot seem to make a scatterplot from them?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks!

Was able to fix this! Had to change my calculations to mimic the below.

IF DATETRUNC('month', [Order Date]) =

THEN

{ FIXED (DATEPART('year', [Order Date])*100 + DATEPART('month', [Order Date])), [State]:

SUM([Profit])/SUM([Sales])

}

END

Attached the workbook if anybody else has a similar issue.
