# Shift Period and Shift Cycle

In the attached 2018.2 workbook, is anonymized data related to both a Shift Period and related Shift Cycle. The Shift Period calculation [Shift Period 0800-0800] sets the period of time for a 24-hour period of time.  The Shift Cycle, [Shifts] using a number of underlying calculations using the Modulo Function is working well, however only up to the first 40 hours (up to midnight of the 2nd 24-hour period), with the last period of 8 hours not picking up the appropriate attribute for the entire 48-hour period.

There are 3 separate shifts (A, B, C) with each shift having the cycle of two 24-hour periods on and four 24-hour periods off, then the shift cycle is repeated. Hence the use of the Modulo Function to help with that effort.

The question is how to obtain the proper shift attribute for the final 8-hour period of the two 24-hour periods of time?

Appreciate any guidance/help.  I've exhausted my experience and related research on this !  Thx, Don

Hi ZZ,

Thank you! That worked perfectly.

I wouldn't have come up with that on my own ! Just curious about the calc formatting as it needed a carriage return to work.  Do you happen to know why? I haven't seen that before.  Thx, Don

Hi, Don

Please remove the comment out lines as I keep it for your reference. then you don't need the carriage return
