Hi Jon-- Could you provide us with a copy of your file, as well as a diagram of what you hope to achieve? You can make a doodle if you want
- Is your worksheet exclusively of this shape, and are you dragging it onto the dashboard to get it to appear?
- Is the shape standard, and if not, have you saved it in your custom shape library? Saving a shape in your custom shape library ensures it will be exported once it is the file is saved or uploaded.
it is a logo file with a clear background. i created a calculated field as a string "image"
i drag this to Row, i change the Mark to Shape, i change the Shape to an image file i have in the shapes folder. it is a clear background image, i change the background to dark blue, i can see my image in the sheet
i go to my dashboard, i drag this sheet into my dash as a floating sheet, the image does not appear, it is only the color of the back ground, no image. there is also another box, white that says "Shape"
Can you post the workbook? Or at least attach your image file?
The "another box that says Shape" is just the shape legend and you can remove it from the dashboard.
But the shape should still be appearing. You might try unchecking Help > Settings and Performance > Enable Accelerated Graphics. That sometimes helps in weird graphics cases.
here it is, you can see the image but when i drag it onto the dashboard it is empty. i adjusted to "show entire", "bring to front", not sure why this is happening. also if you look at the 2nd image below... there now appears a white box over the image... how did that happen?
The white box is just that the mark is selected.
If your goal is just to include a static logo on your dashboard, just use the image object rather than a shape mark:
