Thanks Naveen. Yes this works but in NLPP Part 1 Dashboard, i cannot select custom start date and end Date . It gets blued lines when I try to select.
In the attached I floated everything.
I placed the two sheets in a container. Notice how the swap into the same location now. When one collapses, the other fills the same space.
Then I floated the parameters. Two of them I put in a little container, and the selection param is just somewhere on the dashboard.
Then I created a second sheet that displays when "Selected Date Range" is chosen. I called it "Pop out stuff". In a long vertical container I placed the pop out sheet, and below it I placed the container where the other parameters are. Swap the selection parameter. You'll see the pop out sheet display or hide, and the parameters move up and down accordingly. This technique is called popping.
The pop-out sheet can have anything on it. In the end the users aren't going to see it. You just want to design it large enough to sufficiently push whatever object you want to hide or display.
go to Dashboard 2. Here I repositioned the pop-out container so that it starts in negative space. When the pop out sheet is hidden, the parameters are tucked away above the boundary of the dashboard. When the pop-out displays, it pushes the parameters into view.
As it stands here, you can see parts of the pop-out sheet when it is displayed. Format the sheet so that lines are gone and the text is white (so the user won't see anything.
PS: Probably the blue lines you are getting is due to the change in 10.4. The first page of the links Naveen gave you mentions that. The method I used in the example I uploaded isn't impacted by the 10.4 change.
Thank You All, I got it resolved :-)
Susheela -- Did you figure it out? Yes, popping can work left-to-right. Just make the pop-out sheet wide enough.
We can't pop UP from the bottom, or push backward to the left. But you can position the pop-out container behind something and have it pop down from behind it so that it displays at the bottom of the dashboard. Ditto to make it pop out to display somewhere on the right side of the dashboard.
