# Calc help

I need to calculate the total # of monitors per ldap name. I thought I could use the countd of call id but I see JG as 2 submissions with the call id is NA, so that won't work and when I change it to just a regular count it's way off. Any ideas on how to calculate this?

• ###### 1. Re: Calc help

What do you really want to count ?

Thanks,

Shin

• ###### 2. Re: Calc help

I just need to know how many monitors were completed for each person (ldap name).

• ###### 3. Re: Calc help

I could add in an unpivoted data source and do count ldap name and just data blend the name so it looks like the below. I was hoping to be able to just use the one data source and not data blend. So that's why I was wondering if there was a calculation that could do that.

You could try using a fixed calculation, if you are only interested in the number per LDAP

{FIXED [LDAP Name] : SUM([# of Monitors])}

This will give you the fixed total number of monitors per person

Hi John,

I can't get the correct count.

# of monitors: COUNT([Call ID or Customer Email])

{FIXED [LDAP Name] : ([# of Monitors])}

I get this:

It's duplicating everything because the data is pivoted. Everything that reads 18 should say 1. The ones that say 36 should say 2.

Ah, didn't realize the # of monitors was already a calc

Try

{FIXED [LDAP Name] : COUNTD([# of Monitors]}   -- since the number of monitors is a calc

OR try

{FIXED [LDAP Name] : COUNT([Call ID or Customer Email]}   -- and skip the other calc.

I get same results using {FIXED [LDAP Name] : COUNT([Call ID or Customer Email])}

When I try {FIXED [LDAP Name] : COUNTD([# of Monitors])}   I get an error saying it's already aggregated, I can't further aggregate.

So then I tried {FIXED [LDAP Name] : ([# of Monitors])} but I get the same results as the first calc.

• ###### 8. Re: Calc help

Change

{FIXED [LDAP Name] : COUNT([Call ID or Customer Email])}

to

{FIXED [LDAP Name] : COUNTD([Call ID or Customer Email])}

• ###### 9. Re: Calc help

I can't do a countd on call id because there are instances where the call id is the same. I have some where NA was used.

• ###### 10. Re: Calc help

Not exactly sure this approach is meeting you logic or not, anyways.

Thanks,

Shin

• ###### 11. Re: Calc help

Hmm ... so, you want to exclude those where NA was used?

• ###### 12. Re: Calc help

NA is not countable. So "2" for JG could no be generated with counting email.

• ###### 13. Re: Calc help

The # of Monitors(copy) isn't working as it's doing a distinct count of the evaluator name. There will be times where the evaluator name is the same so then I'm not getting the correct total.

• ###### 14. Re: Calc help

Hi John,

No I don't want to exclude the NA's. For some reason, the call id's couldn't be located so NA was put. I still need to count.
