# Grand Total Help

Hello Everyone,

I am searching for some answers on how to get my grand total to compute correctly. My goal is to have the grand total pick up everything shown in the view and display a total of 53,975,320. Right now it is only picking up the values in from 2018 for the grand total. Here is the formula for the measure I am using:

And here is a screenshot of the view I am working with:

Any help on this issue would greatly be appreciated, please get back to me with any questions you might have.

Thanks,

Derek

HI Derek,

Click on Measure --> Totals --> Sum ( Instead of Automatic )

If it didn't help attach a workbook accordingly so that will try to help

if it helps

Plz mark this answer as correct or helpful to close the thread

HI Derek,

conditional (If statement, etc) sum and G.total does not match in most of the case form the logic stand point. (sum of conditional calc of each sum ) vs (condition calc of sum of each sum).

There are some workaround s, but we need your sample data to work with. (Twbx)

Thanks

Shin

Unfortunately this method won't work for me because the sum option is grayed out and I am unable to select it.

• ###### 4. Re: Grand Total Help

I am hesitant to attach the data as a packaged workbook because some of the data contains sensitive information. Is there any way you could imitate it using your own data to come up with a solution?

• ###### 5. Re: Grand Total Help

We don't need actual data, but need moked up data.

The results are very dependent on the data itself and it's very inefficient to make similar structure data without knowing you whole requirement.

That's a forum manner to prepare sample data by questioner's side.  and that's the way to get the "right answer", "sooner"

Thanks,

Shin

Thanks for the advice Shin, I have mocked up the data and attached it to this reply. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Derek

Quite a bit tricky to achieve this.

First, you need to duplicate data.

And require very complicated formula and tale calc setting.

Thanks so much, Shin! One more question for you... I see there is quite a few new fields that you have created to pull this off. How would I translate these into a waterfall visual like such:

Thanks,

Derek
