TSM Password File? How do you write your batch scripts securely?

    Eric Liong

      Hi everyone,

We're in the process of moving to 2018.2 on a Windows Server.

Currently we have backup scripts that run nightly with tabadmin backup among other scripts.

The new TSM requires you to specify the username/password, is there a way to do this without storing the password in every batch file in plain text?

For example checking the server status went from

      "tabadmin status"

"tsm status -u admin -p password"

I've tried looking through the documentation and searching for some resources but I haven't found a way to do this. I've also tried doing this from the run-as user locally on the machine and you'll need log in still.

      Thanks for your help!
