Dashboards and Dashboard design are not reliant on data sources, meaning you can put any sheet onto a dashboard. So I would suggest creating a new dashboard that incorporates sheets from both dashboards.
You can Embed dashboards using web page objects by following the steps below found on this site: https://bensullins.com/tableau-tip-embedding-dashboard-dashboard/
- Publish a workbook
- Get the share URL of that viz and add &:toolbar=no to the end of it
- Put a new web page object on your dashboard and paste in this URL
I hope this helps.
Thanks Brandon..I tried it.. its working perfect..this is what I want it...but curious . Isn't similar to Story concept in tableau... like showing it in 2 different tab...
Thanks for correct me.
But action from the dashboard is not working, unless I select the option "Sheet as tab" while publishing ...Is there any solution or workaround to incorporate the Action Filter to other worksheet.
Thanks in advance
Is it possible to share your workbook or screenshots of the dashboards you are referring to?
I have attached the workbook as well as the screenshot..Basically I applied the Action in Region Dashboard to connect it to the another workbook, Geo &Country, After publishing it to the server, I am seeing the connected worksheet as a tab, which I don't want to show(Geo/Country sheet) the user..
Here is the screenshot without selecting the option,
But I publish with option " Show Sheets as tabs"
the link is working as I click on the any of the region,
the corresponding country shows
Thank you for sharing, now that I see the challenge more clearly I think the solution is an easier one. Since you have one worksheet in each Dashboard you can place them both in the same Dashboard with the same results. This way you can remove the Show Sheets selection when publishing. I don't know if you can open the attachment since you're on an earlier version but I added a few other changes that might be helpful. I'll explain in the images below just in case.
Below is an example of the Dashboard with both the Region sheet and the Geo & Country. I added a blank space to add some separation and set each worksheet to Fit to Width. Then I added a Dashboard header.
If you don't want to show any aggregated values I went ahead and brought Region (on the Region sheet) to Text and hid the Region Header on Rows. This creates a clean text without the (abc) column. I did the same on the Geo & Country. You did not request this but I added to show a clean example as well as possibly share another possibility to show your data if you were not previously familiar.
Next you can either hide all tabs you don't want to share in your workbook or you can select not to show tabs and you should end up with the result you desire.
I hope this helps Grace,
Please let me know if I missed the mark on this or if this solved that last bit of your challenge.
