Could you try using sets instead?
thank you for your response. Unfortunately, I don't have an idea how to use sets to solve this issue.
My problem in detail:
Dependant on the selected month I have to create multiple calculated members, for example:
current Month, current Quarter, next Month, next Quarter, ...
If you have any suggestion, how I could achieve this using sets, please let me now.
Given you're looking to focus on relative dates, are you able to use a date filter here, and right click to change it to 'relative date'?
Thanks again. Unfortunately:
1) The dates are not formatted as an actual "date syntax" so Tableau cannot recognize the values as dates.
2) I would still need to retrieve the value of a parameter to determine what "last month" is supposed to be.
So I need to be able to get the "last month" of 2015.07 as well as 2018.07.
Is there not any way to get the current value of the parameter in a calculated member?
Found the solution myself:
Tableau names parameters internally when you create them.
To use them simply refer to them like the following in your MDX formula:
Tableau just counts the parameters upwards, so for the parameter created after the first use:
Hope this helps people that are facing similar issues.
