# How do I change a number axis to intervals?

I have to prepare a visual where I can show the state of open tickets and their age. I've been able to achieve this by creating a calculated field to calculate the age for an open ticket.

where [Date] is the date of creation of the ticket and '# of Days Open' indicated the age of the ticket.

The visualization comes out to be:

The problem for me is that I don't want to see so many bars. How can I convert the horizontal axis to intervals of 5? So tickets with age from 1-5 are stacked together, similarly for 6-10,11-15 and so on.

Hi Nitin,

Thanks for the quick reply. This solves my problem. However, is there a way to show the intervals on the axis? (i.e., 1-5, 6-10,...)

Hi Nimit,

You just have to right click on  #number of days open (bin)>> Select Aliases >> Change the Value (Alias) it will return you desired output.

Since you already Created the Number Of Days Open So Use This Calc

IF Number of Days<=5 THEN  "1-5"

ELSEIF

Number of Days>= 6 and Number of Days <=10 THEN "6-10"

ELSE "More than 10"

END

You can make changes to above Code and use it On Rows or Columns to create Bins.

Thanks

Deepak

I realized that this visualization for my data has become somewhat overfilled.

How can I change it to show data for each week instead of a bin of size 5 and group all data older than 6 weeks together?

Also, I want to see week numbers on the horizontal axis.

The final viz should look something like this:

Have been able to create something very near to what I want. I'm left with only clubbing data for more than 6 weeks together.

Can anyone throw some light on how to accomplish this?
