Are there any special characters in the password? Is there any whitelisting on SQL Server?
Thank you so much for looking into it.
Yes, SQL Server is whitelisted to connect it from Tableau Server.
i.e., we are using public IP of SQL SERVER in Tableau connection.
However. both are in the same intranet.
Can you provide the exact text (or a screenshot) of the error message?
Hi Ken Flerlage:
We are getting below alerts:
SQL Server Alert System: Login failed for user 'username'. Reason: Password did not match that for the login provided. [CLIENT: IP]
A) What is the authentication type being used?
- Windows Authentication
- Specific username & password
B) Is SSL being used anywhere?
if you are using SQL Server username and password, you may want to use while connecting to SQL Server Database from Tableau Desktop.
if you are using windows authentication, specify port, username and password and save it.
Hi Toby Erkson
Thanks for replying.
A. We are using username and password
B. Not using SSL
I don't know. Do you have the right version of the MS SQL Server driver installed on your TS? If you have more than one node you probably need to have the driver installed on them as well. See this: Database Drivers
