I should also state this overall ranking will have to be shown on a separate Sheet so it is not just a matter of using some grand totals or something.
Make separate RANK calcs.
We don't "store" values to pass from one sheet to another. You'll have to place the RANK calcs on each sheet where they need to be used. Ranks have to be re-evaluated for each sheet.
That's what I thought but was hoping there was a way around it. I'm trying to duplicate this layout: Where the top part of the Dashboard is a chart showing the Overall Category Ranking for each location and the bottom part shows the individual Metrics as well as the ranking for each location.
It's going to be tricky enough just getting the bottom portion to work, and no that was not my choice for design- it's what I was told I have to replicate from an Excel report. Guess I'll have to do the ranking in the SQL prior to bringing it into Tableau- I can do that but was trying to avoid if possible. It is probably better to do it in SQL anyway.

It might be better to do in SQL, but you should be able to re-calc those ranks in the bottom sheet. It might take some detailed table calc settings to "walk" the table in the second sheet the same way it gets processed in the first, but that's what the table calc settings are for.
