no. it will not bring tables selection but you can edit and change the tables.

You can use CUSTOM SQL to query the source data and create parameter to pass the table name.

I think the article Khan posted covers it but the two screen below should help you in the right direction. Let us know if have any struggle getting what you need. You could also allow all values vs a list as long as the end user typed in the name correctly. You may also need to set a parameter for the database schema.
This approach gives me below error message:

Seems what I proposed is not an option for Tableau currently (that would be too easy)
Another (little more laborious) way is the set up a stored procedure with the 20 tables using a parameter (@Detail - maybe you call yours @TableName ) set as the table name to call each table.
Then connect the stored procedure.
For value when prompted - click in the empty space, select the drop down caret and select 'create new parameter'.
Add your tables names as a list that match back to the SQL stored procedure parameter options.
Show the parameter and change as needed.
