# How to solve the combination problem table calc vs. LOD

Hello altogether,

currenty I am facing a problem -which I think I am definitely not the only one having.

I have simple sales data. The case: Compare the average yearly change of one location to the average yearly change of all locations.

I have put the location as a filter. What I would love to do now (but tableau forbids it), is doing a table calc for the difference percentage to the foreyear for one location and then on top of it build a calculated field with an LOD, which excludes the location filter....so that I can divide the one thing by the other: location 1 / location all. Unfortunately you cannot combine table calcs and LODs. So how can I solve this problem :-(?

Regards,
Philipp

Hi Philip,

It would be great if you attach a sample workbook based on your worksheet layout will try to change the calculations

Hi Philipp,

It is possible to combine the two operations in the following order. First create the LOD expression which will give the percent of total per location and then apply the table calculation to calculate difference in percentage points per year (as long as you have the date/year field in the view).

Let me know if you require further assistance.

Cheers,

Sasha

Hi,

Could you please provide the twbx file?

I use the superstore sample data to do a similar situation.

To show the yearly change for each segment and all segments.

I create 2 kinds of LOD expr CF, one is for exclude segment (so it will show the change of all segments in the view).

the other one for fixed year (so it will show the change of all segments in the data source)

As the attachment.

of course I can provide some data.

in this case (since the data is confidential, I used the superstore data).

What I want to do is to get the relative comparison between both worksheets created in the report. I assume there is another way in one worksheet, but i am stuck at this point...
