You're talking about installing, but you're looking at an upgrade dialog box. Is it possible you have an older install of the server on this machine? If so, you've already created the admin user, and either way you need to go through these first steps to upgrade the server.
Also, are you talking about the Server Run As User in the dialog box, or the actual Server Administrator account that is prompted by the web page the first time your server launches? If the latter, Resetting the Administrator Password or Account | Tableau Software should help, though I'm not sure if this applies to newer server versions as I believe tabadmin functionalities have been deprecated.
Hi Ben, thanks for your answer.
I've installed it yesterday at noon but it doesn't requested me any admin user account. I just uninstalled it and ran the exec again but always that error appears.
Like I said, you've likely installed it in the past, were at least prompted yesterday, or are encountering some weird error. In any of these cases, I'd expect the behavior you describe IF you didn't delete the old content completely. Are you following the uninstall steps in Remove Tableau Server from Your Computer or just using add/remove programs to uninstall?
I jus try the follow thing:
- I execute the "Obliterate" Script bui it doesn't work! It only opens a cmd console and nothing happens. The same thing when I copy the code and press enter into CMD console.
- Uninstall via uninstall.exe which is located in "C:\Program Files\Tableau\Tableau Server". It uninstall it but same error happens when I try to install it again.
- Uninstall Tableau Server from control pane. Same problems described before.
What should I do? Or how can I exec the obliterate script properly?
Thanks for your answers!
Are you still encountering this problem?
If so, have you contacted the Support team for assistance?
