Tableau server 10.3 vs Amazon Athena connection

    Adam Adam

      Hi,

We are facing an issue where we are not able to have a successful connection between Tableau server 10.3 (Clustered Environment) vs Amazon Athena connection.

      We have placed :

1-The latest version of AthenaJDBC driver in C:\Program Files\Tableau\Drivers in each node

2-Placed the athena.properties file which contains info about the proxy in D:\Tableau Server\data\tabsvc\vizqlserver\Datasources in each node.

We are getting the below error when trying to refresh the extract on tableau server:

      "

com.tableausoftware.nativeapi.dll.DataSourceException: com.tableausoftware.jdbc.TableauJDBCException: Exception while connecting to server. Unable to execute HTTP request: Connect to AWSservername:443 failed: connect timed out There was a Java error. Unable to connect to the server "AWSservername". Check that the server is running and that you have access privileges to the requested database."

We were able to get a successful connection on 10.5.1, 2018.1 & 2018.2 single node environments by placing :

1-The latest version of AthenaJDBC driver in C:\Program Files\Tableau\Drivers in each node

2-Placed the athena.properties file which contains info about the proxy in D:\Tableau Server\data\tabsvc\vizqlserver\Datasources in each node.

Has anyone made a successful connection between  tableau server 10.3
