# Displaying Number of Records Across Time Periods

Hi everyone-

I have attached a workbook which shows a line graph going across six time periods, with the data in each time period being broken into three distinct cohorts.  I'm wondering if there is a way to display the "n" for each data point (not an aggregated n for all records in the data set). For example, I'd like an n which indicates how many records were associated with Cohort 1 in Q4 2016 and then a separate n indicating the number of records associated with Cohort 2 in Q4 2016, etc.

Please let me know if I'm not being clear - any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

HI Emma,

Not exactly sure but this should work if you don't need any special considerations.

Thanks,

Shin

Not 100% sure I understand what you're asking, but can you just try adding Number of Records to the text card?

See attached workbook.

Simply adding number of records gives you the n for each time period, but not specific to cohort. As you can see, both lines in the same time-frame have the same n - I'm trying to get the n specific to each line.

Hi Emma,

Why you don't use "Cohort" as dimension simply ?

You don't need individual calculation at all (for every single measure)?

Thanks,

Shin

thank you- this will do it. I can't believe how much I was over-complicating the problem. Thank you so much!!
