Counting Dimensions in a row

Hi all,

Please could you help with the following query - I'm trying to put in 2 total columns as can be seen below.

How do I go about counting the number of risks (exc Not applicable)? e,g, Total for BU1 = 3, BU2 = 1, BU3=3 etc.

Tableau workbook attached (v.10.5.2)

Thanks!

Sandeep

As the risks are separate dimensions you will need a formula to check each dimension and return a count of ones that meet your criteria.

I've attached an example.

Hi Chris,

Please could you re-save your workbook in Tableau version 10.5.2 as I can't open the attached file.

Thanks,

Sandeep

A very quick follow-on question Chris - how do I get a column total as well as the row total?

You wouldn't be able to put a total to the individual risks as in the columns, but can for the totals using the analysis/totals menu.

If you need a total of the risks it would be easiest to do a second view counting each of their by column, alternatively you could have the risks as numbers rather than text. which would allow you more options.
