    Joining Tables

    Abby Palcer

I am connecting to SQL to join tables.  I am noticing the left joins are not working as I expected. In tableau how would this join from SQL look like?

      SELECT A.*

      FROM A

      LEFT JOIN B

         ON A.ID = B.AID

AND B.Date Between 20170101 and 20171201  -- I can not move this to the where clause. If I move this to the where clause then I will loose records from table A that are not on Table B.

Ideally, I would like the dates to come from a filter.   I am new to Tableau, so I am not sure if this can be done.
