How are you establishing a connection to google sheets.
Are you using the native connector to connect to google sheets?

Hi Benny,
I've seen some similar behaviors and the issue was caused by Firewal or the VPN. Most likely is not caused by Tableau.
Since the error states an empty response from ::1, I believe this error is being caused by network settings on the computer which are blocking access to the IPv6 home address. In some systems the IPv6 home, or loopback, address is blocked or disabled. Reasons for this include IPv6 being disabled entirely or security concerns.
There are two options that may handle this situation:
1. If Proxy Server is enabled in Local Area (LAN) Settings of Internet Options:
a. Open up Internet Options
b. Click the LAN settings button on the Connections tab
c. Check the box: Bypass proxy server for local addresses
d. Click the Advanced button
e. Add [::1] to the Exceptions box
2. If "Automatically detect settings or "Use automatic configuration script" is enabled in Local Area (LAN) Settings of Internet Options:
a. Work with your IT team to bypass [::1] addresses in the local proxy.
Hope this help

Benny Magnus Jul 27, 2018 6:04 AM (in response to Sebastian Sofariu)Hi Sebastian,
Thanks for the advice. Apparently I have an automatic proxy setup that uses a setup script. I contacted the IT team and let you know if this fixed the issue.
Kind regards,
Benny

Benny Magnus Aug 7, 2018 7:47 AM (in response to Sebastian Sofariu)Hi all,
Not 100% sure if it's due to proxy settings but for some reason it works if you use Internet Explorer as browser instead of Google Chrome.
The live connection also works as it should after publishing the dashboard.
Kind regards,
Benny

Benny Magnus Sep 27, 2018 6:56 AM (in response to Suraj Kumar)Hi Suraj,
The connection works fine when using browsers Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge. For some reason it doesn't work for me with Google Chrome.
It could be a setting in Google Chrome that's causing this but to be honest I've no idea which settings in the security section to look at...
FYI - I experienced the same connection issue when connecting to Box. I had to set Microsoft Edge as my standard browser before I could connect with my Box account. Not ideal as I was used to work with Google Chrome but it's an easy workaround that works perfectly.
Kind regards,
Benny

Suraj Kumar Sep 27, 2018 7:46 AM (in response to Benny Magnus)Ok Benny,
Still try trouble shooting as sometimes google chrome also blocks flash by default or open dialog block. So, those troubeshooting from browser might help.
Still, You have this workaround. Sounds Good.
