# Calculate the % difference in a calc

Hi There,

I have this dashboard, I will use the -6.73% (second column) in my example:

The % in red shows the % difference between the above 2 numbers. To do this I used to sheets, the second sheet (to get the % difference) used the quick table calculation function (percentage difference), compute using table down, relative to previous.

The issue I have is that I now want to use the percentage difference result in another calculation. Do I need to create a new calc that gives the -6.73% result (rather than using the quick table calculation), how can I do that? or is there another way?

Thanks

Hannah

Hi, Hannah

Can you provide a workbook?

Hi Hannah,

You need to create a calculated which resembles the same table calculation which help you to give 6.3 % then you need to use the calc in another measure or dimension to derive the value.

I cant, because it has a lot of private company data in it:(

yes that's what I thought but was not sure how, because its calculating the dif between 2 dynamic calculations....

Could you please do the mockup with superstore data or can you tell us what is the table calculation you are using so that it will be helpful to debug more

Yes see above: To do this I used two sheets, and the second sheet (to get the % difference) used the quick table calculation function (percentage difference), compute using table down, relative to previous.
