Tableau Public can do almost everything that Tableau Desktop can do, but the one limitation is the number of connectors that are available. To my knowledge Google Analytics is not a supported connector in Tableau Public. You can do only the following:

Text

JSON

Access

PDF

Spatial file

Statistical file

Google Sheets

OData

Web Data Connector

I would be concerned if you COULD use Google Analytics with Tableau Public.  Using Public, you can only save to the Tableau Public website, which means you would be exposing the analysis of your website traffic to the entire world.

You can try it with a trial of Tableau Desktop, but I still wouldn't suggest posting on Public either.
